Yosemite Photography Classes and Workshops
An avid rock climber, Chris moved to Yosemite in 1972 and has lived here ever since. Living in Yosemite has offered many opportunities such as rock climbing, hiking, camping, kayaking, and skiing. These adventures brought Chris to many unique areas of the park that sparked his interest in photography. He began to carry a camera with him on every excursion to capture images of climbers, skiers, and sunsets from various locations off the beaten trail.
Chris is a former director of the Ski Patrol at Badger Pass in Yosemite and continues to work there part time. A former Yosemite Mountaineering School climbing and Nordic ski guide, Chris has climbed hundreds of Yosemite’s climbing routes and has a wealth of knowledge of the park’s terrain.
Chris is an acclaimed photographer whose photos have appeared in publications around the world including National Geographic Maps, Mens Journal, Climbing, and many other action sport magazines. They have also been used in catalogs such as patagonia, Black Diamond, prAna, Zeal Optics and Five Ten. He owns and operates Yosemite Stock Photographs, a web site featuring a collection of his work in Yosemite.
